Fitness and Mobility Exercise (FAME) is a program for individuals with stroke with some standing and walking ability. Designed to enhance mobility and fitness, and to reduce the risk of secondary complications such as falls, fractures, and heart disease. Includes warmup, exercises focused on balance, strength, and agility, followed by cool down and stretching.

Must complete Consent Form, Community Center Information Form, PAR-Q Questionnaire, and Medical Information Form (if required) prior to participation. Forms can be obtained by contacting [email protected] or filled out in person before the first class.

Is this class for me? If you can answer YES to the following questions; Can I stand for 5 minutes? Can I walk for 10 metres (with or without a walking aid)? Can I communicate with the instructor? Can I follow instructions given verbally or in combination with gestures and demonstrations? Can I let the instructor know if I have pain, or do not want to do a particular exercise? Can I go to the washroom by myself or with my caregiver?
